Curriculum Vitae

My name is Karen Rihani, I am from Lebanon. In 2019 I completed my PhD at the Centre des Sciences du Goût et de l’Alimanetation (CSGA) in Dijon, France. Currently, I am a postdoc at the Max Planck Center next Generation Insect Chemical Ecology (nGICE) under the supervision of Dr. Silke Sachse (MPI), Dr. Bill Hansson (MPI), Dr. Markus Knaden (MPI), Dr. Sharon Hill (SLU), and Dr. Rickard Ignell (SLU). My postdoctoral project aims to identify if innate olfactory behaviour of fruit flies is a plastic trait that differs among individuals to cope with climate change. In other words, do similar selection pressures on different individuals of the same species lead to the same genetic/neural adaptations?

Project: Do pre-adaptations to climate change exist incurrent insect populations?
